Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet Rich Plasma from £179*
Why is everyone talking about PRP therapy, sometimes known more dramatically as a Vampire Facial? The reason that PRP is so popular is that it is a cosmetic injectable treatment for naturally renewing the skin and repairing the signs of ageing – a regenerative therapy. The treatment is based purely on nature and science and uses the body’s own plasma, so it is safe. Plasma contains platelets which are tiny blood cells which play a crucial part in helping the body repair damaged blood vessels and cells, You can think of platelets as little energy stores, which release proteins for growth when they come in contact with the body’s tissue. That’s the science!
The treatment involves injecting your own platelet rich plasma into your skin, which delivers natural stimulation for the body’s normal healing response, helping your skin to rejuvenate. The treatment can be effective in improving the appearance of wrinkles, scars and stretch marks, tightening open pores, plumping and volumising cheeks, improving bags around the eyes and more.

Frequently Asked Questions
PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production, which in turn thickens and tightens thinning skin, helping to heal the skin in so many ways, many of which have already been listed. As PRP stimulates the production of collagen, it’s also a great treatment for improving overall skin texture and tone. Many clients have reported that it helps with blemishes, acne and rosacea, others report how much smoother their skin feels, and makeup sits better on the skin.
PRP uses your own body’s natural resources without the addition of any foreign bodies, such as botulinum toxin found in Botox. The treatment needs to be administered by a qualified clinical therapist, who will take a sample of your blood, having firstly applied an anaesthetic. This blood is then separated to extract the magic ingredient plasma, this extraction is achieved through spinning the blood in a centrifuge for approximately five minutes The platelet rich plasma is then injected into areas of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. It is worth noting that again that PRP can only be completed by a qualified professional, as it is an advanced treatment.
Some therapies include a second stage which involves taking the red blood cells which were separated from the plasma and smothering the skin with this rich, again natural ingredient and then applying a derma roller to treat the deeper derma layer of the skin – this is where the term ‘Vampire Facial’ comes from.
It typically takes between three to four weeks before results will be seen in the skin after PRP treatment, but the good news is that results are long lasting, and the effects can be seen up to 18 months after approximately three sessions.
